With three concerts already in the book, Snowbasin’s Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series is in full swing. If you have yet to make it up to Snowbasin for one of these free concerts, you still have plenty of chances—twelve, to be exact—to get in on the action (and we highly recommend you do!). Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series resumes this Sunday, 14th, as Snowbasin welcomes Benyaro and special guest Red Desert Ramblers to the Patio at Earl’s Lodge.
Benyaro is a Jackson, Wyoming-based “indie-acoustic soul, roots, and folk project” duo comprised of Ben Musser and Bobby McCollough. Musser first created the group in 2005 with bassist Tucker Yaro. Benyaro released its debut album in 2008. McCollough later replaced Yaro as Benyaro’s full-time bassist. The group’s initial release earned Benyaro some success, receiving plays on prominent radio stations and gaining a spot on CMJ’s Top 200 chart. Benyaro followed up this success with its second studio album, Good Day Better, in early 2010. Benyaro released The Cover EP, its third studio release, in July 2012. Since releasing The Cover EP, Benyaro has toured the US extensively in support of the EP and will make a stop at Snowbasin to play the Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series on Sunday.
Red Desert Ramblers is an award-winning, five-piece bluegrass/country/swing band from Salt Lake City. As a group, Red Desert Ramblers has been honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) for being “the first Utah Band…to EVER be hired for an IBMA performance,” according to the band’s website. Furthermore, Red Desert Ramblers are the only bluegrass band to have been featured at the Mountain West Conference of the Arts. Since forming, Red Desert Ramblers have played numerous festivals regionally and nationally, including the International Bluegrass Music Association FanFest in Nashville, the Red Rocks Bluegrass Festival in St. George, Utah, and the Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass Festival in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Red Desert Ramblers will take the stage at the Patio at Earl’s Lodge for this edition of Blues, Brews, and BBQ at 12:00 pm, followed by Benyaro at 3:00. This show is a can’t-miss for fans of acoustic or bluegrass music.
Earl’s Lodge is located at the base of Snowbasin, just beyond the main parking lots. The Patio is located around the back of the building; you should have no trouble finding it. Admission to this Blues, Brews, and BBQ concert is free and open to all ages. Delicious BBQ grub and beer will be available for purchase.
