The Nutcracker Ballet

What better way to begin the holiday season, then filling the air with a sense of wonder and cheer with The Nutcracker. Audiences are transported into a dreamlike world of twinkling snowflakes, dancing sugar plums, and brave toy soldiers.

There are several local productions with unique interpretations of this classic ballet, from the professional Ballet West production to the beloved community production by Julie Moffitt’s Ballet School at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. These performances are the perfect way to embrace the holiday season in Ogden.

Pints on Powder

Nov. 22

Connect, enjoy local brews, and find out what’s new for the upcoming Powder Mountain season at these Tap Takeover events. The final take over is happening on November 22nd, 5-8 PM at Roosters B Street in Ogden. Special giveaways, custom Powder Pint Glasses, and free swag for Season Pass holders with proof of purchase. North Ogden Turkey Trot

Nov. 28

This 3rd annual North Ogden Turkey Trot is a community event takes place on Thanksgiving day. Participants can choose between a 5K individual race or a 5K relay, where two runners each complete a 1.5-mile lap.

The race starts at 8 AM at McGriff Park. Prizes are pies and more pies, and will be awarded to top finishers, adding a festive element to the race. For more information and to register, visit the official race page.

Ogden Santa Run

Nov. 30

The Ogden Santa Run is an annual 5K event in Historic Downtown Ogden. The race begins at 4:30 PM on November 30th, and precedes the Ogden Holiday Light Parade. All participants get a Santa suit to run in and Milk and Cookie Aid Stations supported by elves to keep runners energized. Music is played over the entire course of the race.

Ogden Holiday Light Parade

Nov. 30

A family-friendly event that brings the community together to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. The parade will commence at 5:30 PM, after the Santa 5K Run, where participants dressed as Santa Claus run the parade route. The parade will feature illuminated floats, marching bands, and performers.

Christmas Village

Nov. 30 - Jan. 1

A cherished annual event that transforms downtown Ogden into a winter wonderland. Featuring dazzling displays of holiday lights and decorated cottages, the official lighting takes place after the Santa Run and the Holiday Light Parade. Children can visit Santa Claus Monday through Friday from 6-9 PM, Saturday 5-9 PM, starting November 30 through December 23.

The Nest Holiday Open House

Nov. 30

This annual holiday event is hosted by the Ogden Nature Center from 9-4 PM on November 30th, and highlights local artisans and nature-themed gifts. Alongside the local artisans, the Nest Gift Shop will be open, there will also be fresh evergreen swag, rosemary plants, and poinsettias. Come enjoy free hot cocoa, free gift wrapping, and a nature craft activity for children, making it a great holiday outing for the whole family. Sleigh Rides and Christmas Trees at Bailey's Tree Farm

For a unique holiday experience, visitors embark on a sleigh ride through fields to choose their perfect tree. Trees range from $40 to $120, depending on size. They also offer traditional Christmas wreaths. The farm features reindeer and provides hot chocolate. Sleigh rides available by appointment from 11 AM to 5 PM. Santa Is Coming To Ogden Valley

Dec. 7

Come say hi to Santa at the Mountain Luxury Lodge in Eden, UT. From 11 AM to 2 PM, you can take family photos with Santa and a stunning 50 ft. Christmas tree while you enjoy hot cocoa and treats from Peddlers Café. Non-perishable foods and new toys will be accepted for donation for Ogden Rescue Mission.
