Community Events at the Historic Monastery Farm

The Historic Monastery Farm is iconic to the valley and hosts several events and festivals throughout the year. Having just celebrated their Harvest Moon Festival at the end of September with hayrides, u-pick pumpkins, an artisan market, food trucks, and barn dancing, the farm is getting ready for their second annual fall festival, coming up this week.

Experience the peaceful feeling on the farm at the Spirit of the Monks Festival on October 12, 2024. Enjoy food trucks, a local artisan market, hayrides, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, as well as a movie in the pumpkin patch. There is no entrance fee, and the farm hopes visitors will feel the spirit of the beloved monks and the love of the land.

Future Plans for the Farm

If you missed it this year, mark your calendars for next year’s Farmers Market at the Historic Monastery Farm on Saturdays from 9-2pm in July and August. Along with up to 20 different local vendors, local bands, and local food trucks, the farm brings fresh produce from their farm McFarland Family Farms in West Weber, over the mountain to the monastery. With an emphasis on ‘local’, these summer market days are a favorite stop for locals and visitors taking a break from the lake.

Honoring the foundations the monks laid in Ogden Valley over 75 years ago is what guides the future plans for the farm. With goals to host farm-to-table dinners next year, as well as farm tours and special events, the Historic Monastery Farm will continue to be a cornerstone for the valley for years to come.
