Kaysville, Utah, is a city in northern Davis County, bordered by Layton to the north, Farmington to the south, Fruit Heights to the east, and the Great Salt Lake to the west. Mormon pioneers arrived and began to settle the area in 1847. The settlement was initially named "Kay's Ward" after William Kay, one of the first settlers in the area and a local Mormon leader at the time. Kay's Ward grew quickly; by 1850, 300 settlers inhabited the area. After adopting the name "Kaysville," the settlement was officially incorporated in 1868, making it the first incorporated city in Davis County. Today there are almost 32,000 people who reside in Kaysville.
