Ogden Valley Triathlon

Do you enjoy running?  Do you enjoy swimming?  Do you enjoy cycling?  If you answered yes to one of any of these three questions, there’s an event coming up in Ogden Valley that may catch your interest: the TriUtah Ogden Valley Triathlon on September 14^th.

The TriUtah Ogden Valley Triathlon is one of eight races in the TriUtah Series.  Ogden Valley hosted another TriUtah race, the TriUtah Ultimate Relay, earlier this summer. The Ultimate Relay is a team-based triathlon relay that spans more than 130 miles from Huntsville to Midway, Utah.  The Ogden Valley Triathlon, however, takes place entirely in Ogden Valley, of course.

The TriUtah Ogden Valley Triathlon begins with a 1,000-meter swim at Windsurfer Beach, approximately a quarter of a mile south of Port Ramp Marina on the western shores of Pineview Reservoir in Eden.  Following this swimming portion, competitors will then take to the bike course, a 15.4-mile loop around Pineview Reservoir.  Upon returning to Windsurfer Beach after racing around Pineview, competitors are then faced with a four-mile run along Highway 158.  The run course is a loop as well, meaning competitors will two miles up the road to a designated turning point and then head back toward the finish line at Windsurfer Beach.

This race is not your normal triathlon.  Most sprint triathlons consist of a 750-meter swim, a 12.4-mile bike ride, and a 5K (3.1-mile) run.  So this TriUtah Ogden Valley Triathlon is definitely not for the faint of heart, legs, or lungs!
