Ogden Valley's Valley Elementary Needs Volunteers

Valley Elementary School needs your help!

Last week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Principal David Hales at Valley Elementary School, and he told me of the school's mission to make sure all children can read proficiently. The school is currently in the process of implementing a program called Read Naturally, which will help improve students' proficiency in reading, especially for those having difficulties. Read Naturally is a phenomenal program; it is well-reviewed and its results are proven. Volunteers are needed to help Valley Elementary School's professional reading specialists implement this program on a larger level.

Those who are interested must be able to commit at least 30 minutes every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for two consecutive months. In that time, volunteers will read with small groups of children and help the school's reading specialists track and monitor students' progress. Volunteers will receive full training in the Read Naturally program from Valley Elementary School's reading specialists. This is a great opportunity to get involved and help the amazing children of our community. Children who have trouble reading experience difficulty in almost all areas of school since reading skills are paramount to a quality education.
