The coming days will be fantastic for music fans here in Ogden Valley. On Friday the 26th, the Utah Symphony will perform at Snowbasin for the resort’s “Utah Symphony under the Stars” event. On Sunday, Snowbasin will again be alive alive with the latest installment of the Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series. The musical excitement continues next week with two concerts at Huntsville BBQ Company: The Nashville Tribute Band tomorrow, July 30th and Due West on Wednesday, July 31st.
The Nashville Tribute Band is a nine-piece country music band from Nashville, Tennessee. Led by frontmen Jason Deere and Dan Truman (who is also the keyboardist for the well-known country band Diamond Rio), the Nashville Tribute Band performs LDS-themed songs. Deere and Truman co-wrote and co-produced the band’s first album, Joseph: A Nashville Tribute to the Prophet, in 2005. This album won multiple awards for the Nashville Tribute Band, including Pearl Awards for Contemporary Album of the Year and Inspirational Recording of the Year. Propelled by the momentum of this success, the Nashville Tribute Band released a second album in 2007 (Trek: A Nashville Tribute to the Pioneers) and a third in 2011 (The Work: A Nashville Tribute to the Missionaries).
Catch the Nashville Tribute Band when it performs at Huntsville BBQ Company tomorrow. Tickets are still available here. Admission starts at $10 for individuals and $30 for families. You also have the option of purchasing dinner and a show ticked for $26 a person. Dinner will be served by Huntsville BBQ Company and Bella’s Fresh Mexican Grill. Festivities will begin at 6:30.
On Wednesday, Huntsville BBQ will welcome Due West, a country music group also from Nashville, Tennessee. Comprised of members Tim Gates, Brad Hull, and Matt Lopez, Due West formed in 2004 and self-released its debut single, “I Get That All the Time,” in 2009. The band then released its self-titled debut EP a year later. A second studio EP, Forget the Miles, was released in 2011. The single from this album, “When the Smoke Clears,” was made into a music video as well. Both of these videos made it into Great American Country’s Top 20. The band has since released another EP, Our Time, and its fourth EP, Move Like This, is set to release in a few days.
Tickets to the Due West concert at Huntsville BBQ Company are still available here. Admission costs $15 for individuals and $60 for families. Tickets to a special pre-show dinner event with the band are sold out. Music will begin at 6:30.
