Tour of Utah - Stage 5

Do you enjoy watching professional cycling events, such as the Tour de France?  Do you wish you could view one of these events in person?  Well, by living here in northern Utah, you’re in luck.  If you’re a cycling fan, you’ve surely heard of the Tour of Utah, but did you know that a portion of the race is held right here in our back yard at Snowbasin?

The Tour of Utah began as a regional cycling race, known as the Thanksgiving Point Stage Race.  In 2004, the race officially became the Tour of Utah.  Two years later, the Tour was granted UCI (International Cycling Union) status and was later added to the UCI America Tour.  Today, the Tour of Utah is known worldwide as “America’s toughest stage race” and the most premier international cycling race after the Tour de France. 

The Tour of Utah consists of six stages held over the course of six days.  Stage one begins at Brian Head Ski Resort in southern Utah on Saturday, August 10^th.  Over the next few days, the race will make its way northward, and on the fifth day of the race, stage five will begin at Snowbasin, right here in Huntsville.

So, if you want to be a part of some epic cycling racing, head up to Snowbasin to catch some of the action on the morning of August 10^th.
