Calling all our music-fan friends once again! It’s time for our weekly Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series update. Summer is in full swing, and so is this concert series presented by Snowbasin. Indeed, the series is a third of the way complete; five shows are in the books and ten remain. If you still want to make it to one of these free shows but haven’t been able to yet, don’t worry; you still have plenty of chances. Your next chance comes this Sunday, July 28th, as Snowbasin welcomes Coastwest Unrest and special guest the Nate Robinson Trio.
Coastwest Unrest is a three-piece American folk and rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2009, Coastwest Unrest is currently comprised of violinist Alex Barnes, percussionist Josh Dickie, and guitarist/vocalist Noah Dickie. Since forming, Coastwest Unrest has released three studio albums, Songs from the Desert (2009), Old Weird America (2010), and High Times on Lowly Streets (2013). The band’s latest album has been described as “equal parts electric and acoustic with an underlying hum of punk—and surprises await in every song.” Don’t miss your chance to witness this talented touring act, as Coastwest Unrest graces the stage at the Patio at Earl’s Lodge on Sunday, July 28th.
Joining Coastwest Unrest on stage on Sunday will be special guest the Nate Robinson Trio, a three-piece reggae band from Salt Lake City. Led by frontman/guitarist/percussionist Nate Robinson, the Trio is also comprised of Dave Howes on guitar and Aaron Okura on bass. Nate Robinson has had an illustrious music career. Nate joined the popular ska group Sturgeon General in 1998 and toured the US relentlessly for two years, then returned to Utah and formed his own ska/reggae group, Two and a Half White Guys, who have since released five studio albums. Nate then formed the Nate Robinson Trio in 2008.
If you haven’t been to a Blues, Brews, and BBQ show at Snowbasin yet, this show is a good one to start with. Both Coastwest Unrest and the Nate Robinson Trio are extremely talented and, moreover, they’re family friendly, so you can bring your kids and have a great time with the whole family!
The Nate Robinson Trio will take the stage at the Patio at Earl’s Lodge at 12:00 pm, followed by headliner Coastwest Unrest at 3:00.
Earl’s Lodge is located at the base of Snowbasin, just beyond the main parking lots. The Patio is located around the back of the building; you should have no trouble finding it. Admission to this Blues, Brews, and BBQ concert is free and open to all ages. Delicious BBQ grub and beer will be available for purchase.
