One of the Best Things to Do in Ogden Valley is Ice Skate at Huntsville Park.

Every winter, Huntsville Town turns its main public park into a sheet of ice. This tradition began in the 1960s, when a man named "Blondie" Peterson and his sons began flooding the town's tennis courts to create an ice rink. Throughout the years, the location of the ice rink changed multiple times, and so did public interest in the rink. Then, in the 1990s, a handful of Huntsville residents came together to revive the rink. They moved the rink to its current location at 300 S 7400 E in Huntsville, installed a hydrant to better supply water to the rink, and acquired a tractor with a specialized sweeper attachment that helped better maintain the ice. Every winter dozens of volunteers work together to freeze the park and create the Huntsville Ice Rink.

Today, the Huntsville Ice Rink is a must on your to do list. It is one of the most charming outdoor ice rinks in the West - and a popular destination for locals in the winter. On any given winter afternoon, dozens of residents will visit the rink for a few hours of skating. Pick-up hockey games usually spring up on Saturdays. This ice rink is a must-do attraction for residents and visitors alike in Ogden Valley.

The Huntsville Ice Rink is open at virtually all hours (as long as the park lights are on at night) and admission is completely free.   Huntsville BBQ directly across the street offers skate rentals for $2. Come late enough and you can help spray the ice, quite possibly the most fun.
